HTET Eligibility Criteria

- Candidates must have a Senior Secondary (or equivalent) qualification with at least 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2007, which were notified on August 31, 2009; OR
- Candidates must have a Senior Secondary (or equivalent) qualification with at least 45% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002; OR
- Candidates must have a Senior Secondary (or equivalent) qualification with at least 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); OR
- Candidates must have a Senior Secondary (or equivalent) qualification with at least 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education); OR
- Candidates must have a Graduation qualification and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
- Candidates must have passed Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or have completed Senior Secondary/Graduation/Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.
LEVEL 2
(which includes Classes 6 to 8)
To be eligible for the HTET Level 2 exam, candidates preparing for the TGT exam should meet the following criteria:
- Graduated from the relevant discipline and finished a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or are currently enrolled in it.
- Have a graduation degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Possess a graduation degree in the relevant discipline with at least 45% marks and have passed or be appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) that is in compliance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedures) Regulations.
- Have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

Salary Structure after HTET
Upon selection as a TGT/PGT at government schools, candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,42,400, based on their job post. Primary teachers will receive a gross salary of Rs. 35,400 – 1,12,400 per month, while TGT teachers will receive a salary of Rs. 47,600-1,51,100. PGT teachers will receive a gross salary of Rs. 44,900-1,42,400 per month.
