Haryana Police SI Selection Process

The Haryana Police SI selection process 2023 for the Sub-Inspector post consists of the following four stages. One needs to qualify in each of these stages to get selected for the post of Sub Inspector:

Knowledge Test/ Written Exam

  • The first stage is a knowledge test consisting of 100 questions asked for 80 marks.
  • The exam shall consist of objective-type, multiple-choice questions.
  • The duration shall be 90 minutes. 

Physical Standard Test (PST)

The candidates who qualify for the written exam will be summoned for a physical measurement test. These candidates will be tested to ensure that they are fit enough for the post of Sub Inspector. The candidates will have to undergo various physical activities.

The PST is qualifying in nature. The candidates who are deemed unfit in PST will be disqualified from the Haryana Police SI recruitment process.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Additional Qualification

Candidates who clear the PMT stage will be called for final scrutiny of documents. Below mentioned are the criteria based on which marks are allotted under the additional qualification stage for Haryana Police SI recruitment 2022:

  • Education (Maximum 7 marks): 4 marks will be allotted to candidates with a law graduation degree, computer engineering/science, forensic medicine, forensic science, police science, and criminology, and candidates with a postgraduate degree will get 3 additional marks.
  • NCC Certificate (Maximum 3 marks): Candidates with an NCC certificate for A, B, C levels will get an additional 1, 2, and 3 marks respectively.

Socio-Economic Criteria & Experience

The Commission has set an additional 10% weightage under a miscellaneous marking scheme of which:

  • 5 marks shall be awarded if:
  • 5 marks will be awarded if neither the applicant nor any relative of the applicant such as their spouse, father, mother, brother, and son is/was or has been a regular employee in any Department/Corporation/Board/Company/Authority of Government of Haryana or any other State Government or Government of India.
    • The applicant is a widow.
    • If the first or second child and his father died before attaining 42 years of age.
    • If the first or second child and his father died before the applicant attained 15 years of age.
  • 5 marks will be given if the applicant belongs to a denotified tribe (Tapriwas Jatis and Vimukta Jatis) or the Nomadic Tribe of Haryana which is neither SC or BC.
  • A maximum of 8 marks has been kept based on experience when necessary or a contract employee.
