How to Calculate Marks for NEET?
To calculate your NEET score, candidates can follow the official marking scheme and formula provided below:
Each correct answer earns 4 marks.
1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
No marks are awarded or deducted for unanswered questions.
If a question has multiple responses marked on the OMR sheet, it is treated as incorrect, and 1 mark is deducted.

Formula to calculate NEET Marks:-
The NEET marks are calculated using the following formula:
NEET Marks = 4 × (Correct Answers) −1 × (Incorrect Answers)
Where:
Correct Answers refers to the number of questions you answered correctly.
Incorrect Answers refers to the number of questions you answered incorrectly.
- Additionally, if a question has no correct options or if all options are correct, all candidates who attempted that question will receive 4 marks, irrespective of their response.
NEET Tie Breaking Policy 2025:-
The NEET Tie-Breaking Policy for 2025 outlines a systematic approach to resolve ties among candidates who have the same marks or percentile. Below is the step-by-step procedure:
Biology Marks: The candidate with a higher score in Biology (Botany & Zoology) will be ranked higher.
Chemistry Marks: If the tie continues, the candidate with the higher score in Chemistry will take precedence.
Physics Marks: If the tie persists, the candidate with the higher score in Physics will be given a higher rank.
Answer Accuracy: In case of a further tie, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers (more accuracy) will be ranked higher.
Biology Answer Accuracy: If the tie still exists, the candidate with the lower percentage of incorrect answers in Biology will be prioritized.
Chemistry Answer Accuracy: If the tie remains, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers in Chemistry will be favored.
Physics Answer Accuracy: If the tie is unresolved, the candidate with a lower proportion of incorrect answers in Physics will be ranked higher.
Age: If there is still no resolution, the candidate who is older will be given preference.
Application Number: As a last resort, the tie will be broken based on the ascending order of the application numbers.
