Color blindness diseases is very rare in women compared to the men affected with the same disorder. Color blindness often happens when someone is not able to distinguish between certain colors.

Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton has passed away at the age of 86. Charlton, known as one of the best players of his generation, played for Manchester United for 17 years.
He scored 249 goals in 758 games. He won numerous accolades, including the European Cup, three league titles, and the FA Cup.

The Indian men’s hockey team qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics after defeating Japan 5-1 in the final of the Asian Games.
India’s captain, Harmanpreet, scored two goals, while Manpreet, Amit Rohidas and Abhishek scored one goal each. India’s win reclaimed the Asian Games gold medal after nine years. India has played 17 matches without a loss, as of now.

The mixed doubles pair of Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale beat Chinese Taipei pair En-shuo Liang and Tsung-hao Huang in the finals to clinch gold at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou.

Tigist Assefa from Ethiopia recently broke the women’s marathon world record at the Berlin Marathon.
The 26-year-old runner broke the record by crossing the finish line in two hours, eleven minutes, and fifty-three seconds.

India recorded a 10-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 final in Colombo. Led by Mohammed Siraj’s bowling performance of six wicket haul, India stunned Sri Lanka, creating multiple records on the way.
India extended its record of most Asia Cup ODI titles with its eighth win. Mohammed Siraj equalled the fastest ODI five-wicket haul with a 16-ball five-for-record shared with Chaminda Vaas.

The England Cricket Board (ECB) announced that it will increase the match fees for the England Women’s cricket team to bring them in line with the Men’s cricket team.
England joins the likes of New Zealand, India and South Africa in announcing equal match fees for both men’s and women’s teams.

India’s Parul Chaudhary finished 11th in the women’s 3000m steeplechase final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
She set a new National Record and also went past the entry standard for Paris Olympics. Parul clocked 9:15.31s and broke the record set during Rio Olympics in 2016 while also finishing under 9:23.00s, the qualification mark for Paris Olympics.

The 7th edition of the men’s Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament, which was instituted in 2011, began at Chennai’s Mayor Radhakrishnan stadium.
It’s the first time that the tournament is being held in India, and the Tamil Nadu capital will be hosting an international hockey tournament after a gap of more than 15 years. India, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan and Pakistan teams are participating.

The India surf team, participating for the first time, in the Asian championship has bagged the bronze medal.
Two Tamil Nadu youths also broke into the top 10 Asian rankings. As a team, India scored 2,708 points securing the third position, thereby winning the bronze medal. Japan won the gold with 4,450 points.

Keerthana Pandian defeated fellow Indian Anupama Ramachandran in the final in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
She emerged as the IBSF World under-21 women’s snooker champion. Bengaluru’s Natasha Chethan clinched a bronze medal. Dhruv Patel was the best performer in the men’s title, who went down in the quarter finals.

Australia’s state of Victoria not to host 2026 Commonwealth Games due to projected exceeding expenditures.
The state head announced that the prices could blow out to more than A$7 billion ($4.8 billion) from a budgeted A$2.6 billion if they went ahead.

Bhavani Devi recently became the first Indian fencer to win medal in Asian Championships. The Asian fencing championships was held in Wuxi, China.
Bhavani Devi is 29 years old. Earlier in Tokyo Olympics, she was the first Indian fencer to ever compete at an Olympics.

India’s lead badminton players Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty created history by becoming the first doubles pair from the country to win the Indonesia Open title, which is currently a Super 1000 event on the BWF World Tour.
The duo defeated world champions Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik in straight-games to clinch their first Super 1000 title.

Harmanpreet Kaur became the first Indian woman to be named as one of Wisden’s five Cricketers of the Year. She led Mumbai Indians to win the inaugural Women’s Premier League in March.
Suryakumar Yadav was named Wisden’s Leading T20 Cricketer of the Year. At present, Suryakumar Yadav remains at number one position in the ICC T20 men’s rankings.

17-year-old Shang Juncheng created history by becoming the first male Chinese player to win an Australian Open main draw singles match.
China, aside also earned his first tour-level win in four tries, besides clinching his first major win. There are seven Chinese women in the singles draw, led by the veteran Zhang Shuai, who is ranked at 22^nd place in the world.

Ace Football player Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
He left the Manchester United last month. Ronaldo will arrive in Saudi Arabia after a spell at Spanish giants Real Madrid from 2009-18 where he won two La Liga titles, two Spanish Cups, four Champions League titles and three Club World Cups.

Indian female wrestler Antim Panghal has been nominated for the honour of United World Wrestling Rising Star of the Year
In addition to Panghal, the five women across the world who were nominated for the award include Nonoka Ozaki of Japan, Amit Elor of the US, Emma Malmgren of Sweden, and Andreea Ana of Romania.

Asian Wrestling Championships 2023 is set to take place between March 28 to April 2 in New Delhi, the United World Wrestling announced.
The Championship will include men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle, and men’s Greco-Roman divisions.  The first and second events will take place in Zagreb and Cairo in February while the third and fourth events will take place in Bishkek and Budapest in June and July.

Argentina’s World Cup-winning captain Lionel Messi has been named BBC Sports Personality’s World Sport Star of the Year for 2022.
He also won the tournament’s Golden Ball, awarded to the best player, after scoring seven goals at his fifth World Cup.

Indian ace chess player R. Praggnanandhaa won the USD 10,000 Julius Baer Challenger Championship in Tel Aviv.
He clinched a 3-0 triumph over fellow Tamil Nadu Grandmaster V. Pranav in the summit clash. Praggnanandhaa was the winner of the 2021 Challenger Tour and Pranav was the 2022 Challenger Tour champion.

Indian shuttler Manisha Ramadass has been named the Badminton World Federation (BWF) female Para-Badminton Player of the Year.
The World Champion in the SU5 section, Manisha Ramadass won 11 gold and five bronze medals overall in 2022. BWF Male Para-Badminton Player of the Year went to WH2 world champion and reigning Paralympic champion Daiki Kajiwara. Viktor Axelsen and Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong won the BWF Player of the Year Awards.

Unnati Hooda becomes first Indian to enter U-17 women’s singles final in Asia Junior Badminton Championships.
She clinched the silver medal in the Championships held in Nonthaburi, Thailand. Men’s doubles pair of Arsh Mohammad and Sanskar Saraswat and U-15 men’s singles shuttler Anish Thoppani also won silver medals.
