IIT Gandhinagar offers Scholarships for Students

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar), established in 2008, has achieved an impressive ranking of 18th in the NIRF 2023 for Engineering. The institute is dedicated to supporting deserving students through a variety of scholarships, which include fee concessions and direct benefit transfers to students’ bank accounts.

A major highlight among the scholarships is the Academic Excellence Scholarship. This is awarded to undergraduate students with the highest Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) in their discipline, excluding first-year students. Each year, 18 scholarships are distributed, providing recipients with Rs 2,000 per month for ten months.

IIT Gandhinagar also offers scholarships to undergraduate students excelling in sports and games, again excluding first-year students. Six scholarships are available annually, each granting Rs 2,000 per month for ten months.

For those who excel in arts and culture, the institute offers two scholarships each year. Eligible undergraduate students receive Rs 2,000 per month for ten months, maintaining the same criteria as other excellence-based scholarships.

by offering two scholarships annually in this category. Recipients are awarded Rs 2,000 per month for ten months

Free Basic Messing Assistance

BTech and MSc students (Maths, Physics & Chemistry) whose annual parental income is less than Rs 4,50,000 can benefit from Free Basic Messing Assistance. This covers basic messing costs and includes a pocket allowance of Rs 250 per month for ten months.

IIT Gandhinagar boasts over 70 donor-funded scholarships, with eligibility criteria varying for each. These scholarships range from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh, with varying durations based on the donor’s terms.

Erach and Meheroo Mehta Merit Scholarship and Class of 2016 Scholarship: Two scholarships each per year. Kandoi-Dairkee-Gaurav (KDG) Scholarship and Mahabir Prasad Sultania Scholarship: One scholarship each annually. Durga Devi Sultania Scholarship and Niteen P Sant Scholarship: One scholarship each annually. Amalthea Scholarship and Lalita J Shah & Jayantilal B Shah Scholarship. P.K. Kelkar Scholarship and Sri Temasek@IIT Gandhinagar Scholarship: One scholarship each annually. Satyaram Scholarship: Eleven scholarships each year. Prof. M.H. Divekar Scholarship and SC Mehrotra’s Scholarship. Other significant donor-funded awards include the Chandrkant & Patricia Desai Scholarship and Prof. KV Venkatesha Murthy Scholarship. These awards ensure deserving students receive the necessary financial aid to pursue their education without undue financial stress.
