According to Rutherford’s model of atom, an atom
consists of a positively chargedheavy part called
nucleus where most of the mass of the atom is
concentrated. Protons and neutrons are present
in the nucleus. Size of the nucleus is very small
compared to the size of the atom
Around the nucleus, there is extranuclear part in
which there are electrons
Electrons revolve around the nucleus in circular orbit like planets around the sun and they are
called planetary electrons
