Junior Research Fellow and Research Associate position under BFI funded project

Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow and Research Associate in the Department of Biological Sciences at BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus, for a Blockchain For Impact sponsored research project titled “Non-viral biocompatible nanotechnology-based strategies for siRNA/shRNA/AON delivery towards clinical development for Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy therapeutics, BFI_24_114.”

Co-Investigator: Prof. Indrani Talukdar

Broad Area of Research:

The project involves the development of biocompatible nanomaterial-based delivery of siRNA and ASOS-based therapeutics for Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy. The nanocarrier will be functionalized for efficient uptake of the therapeutics by the target cells to achieve high selectivity and better bioavailability. Cell culture and animal studies will be carried out to study the efficiency of delivery and the expression profile of the target therapeutics.

Duration of the project: 18 months

Fellowship Amount (Rs.):

Research Associate: 56,000/- pm + HRA 18%

Junior Research Fellow: 37,000/- pm

Accommodation: Hostel accommodation may be provided subject to availability and will be governed by the rules and regulations of the Institute prevailing at the time of joining
of the candidate.

Qualification:

• For Research Associate: First-class postgraduate degree including the integrated PG degree with Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Molecular Biology or related areas from a reputed University/Institute.
• For Junior Research Fellow: First-class postgraduate degree including the integrated PG degree in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Molecular Biology or related areas. It is desirable that the candidate has qualified National Eligibility Tests- CSIR/UGC NET
including lectureship or equivalent and/or GATE.
• Prior exposure to animal cell culture techniques, molecular biology techniques, and experience in animal handling will be an advantage.
